This position will report to our office location in Baltimore, MD

This position is part time and pays between $17.75-$20.50 an hour.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
• Clean windows, mirrors, glass surfaces, and fixtures
• Restock restroom and facility supplies (soap, paper towels, tissue, etc.)
• Perform routine floor care such as vacuuming, buffing, and spot cleaning
• Perform scheduled floor maintenance such as stripping and waxing
• Perform scheduled carpet maintenance such as shampoo and extraction cleaning
• Follow established cleaning schedules and checklists
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly
• Assist with event setup/cleanup and special projects as needed
• This position will report to Naval Reserve Center Baltimore.
• This position will occasionally require night or weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous commercial custodial or janitorial experience
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor buffer, auto scrubber, etc.)

Additional Qualifying Factors:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions:

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations.  The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.   Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
