This position is part of the AbilityOne Program, a national program that provides employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Through nonprofit agencies, the program offers employment opportunities in areas such as custodial, landscaping, and food preparation services to a diverse range of government customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Keeps the assigned area in a clean and orderly condition
Prepare chemicals for use in the performance of various cleaning tasks, in accordance with instructions
Care for equipment and perform routine maintenance and cleaning as needed
Perform cleaning duties as instructed and assigned, including but not limited to:

Restroom cleaning, replenishing paper products, and soap in restrooms.
Office cleaning, empty trash receptacles, dust surfaces, damp wipe surfaces, vacuum, sweep.
Removal of trash
Floor cleaning includes sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, and wet mopping.
Performance of cleaning duties may take place in an indoor/outdoor environment, depending on the customer’s needs.
All other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:

Must have 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): You must wear the appropriate PPE, including glasses, gloves, a mask, goggles, and closed-toe shoes.

Work Environment: The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees could work in outside areas.
