Custodial Assistant (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY: Join a team of fellow students to clean and maintain the men's and women's residence halls and other select locations on campus. Typical schedules include 12 hours of work per week: 2 hours per weekday, with one hour of work on Saturday and Sunday. Schedule can be flexible depending on your availability.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Take ownership of your assigned area and keep it organized
• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
• Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors and stairs
• Empty/clean trash containers
• Clean, dust, and wipe down surfaces in study lounges, vending rooms, and laundry rooms
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies
• Report schedule changes, maintenance needs, and all extra cleaning requests to a GA who is directly responsible for your area

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University or Academy (at least 14 years old)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to take initiative
• Ability to follow instructions
• This job involves standing, stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, and pushing
