Creative Lead, Minecraft Performance Marketing

We are seeking a hands-on Creative Lead to lead performance marketing creative strategy and art direction for paid media and performance marketing for our client, Minecraft. 

This role sits at the intersection of art direction, performance creative, and hands-on production. In this role, you’ll translate audience and campaign insights into compelling creative concepts, then guide those ideas from initial hook and storyboard through production, editing, and final delivery. This work will result in rapid iteration across paid media, translating historical in-market learnings into concepts, templates, creative tests, and platform-native assets that improve efficiency and growth for the Minecraft ecosystem.

Our ideal candidate combines strong creative taste and conceptual thinking with the hands-on skills needed to bring ideas to life across social channels with a social-first POV. They will have proven experience in both creative strategy and execution roles, where connecting performance insights, platform-native creative, and scalable testing systems are foundational. This role is ideal for someone moving from direct asset creation into strategic direction, with the ability to both make the work and guide others toward stronger performance outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Creative Leadership: 
  • Lead art and creative direction for paid media and performance marketing, defining how ideas come to life across social and digital channels.
  • Develop net-new creative concepts informed by performance insights and platform behaviors.
  • Set a clear creative vision and provide actionable direction to internal creative teams and agency partners.
  • Push creative thinking beyond executional optimization, bringing fresh ideas and experimentation to performance marketing.
• Creative Development & Production:
  • Lead creative development and art direction of short-form video narratives from concept through final asset delivery, including rapid concepts, storyboarding, script support, in-game capture, and production reviews.
  • Apply hands-on expertise in video editing, motion graphics, sound design, and static creative development when needed to execute or elevate the work.
  • Develop and execute final asset suites across required cutdowns, versions, placements, and formats.
  • Create scalable creative frameworks, templates, and approaches that allow successful ideas to extend across campaigns and channels.
  • Maintain performance marketing creative playbooks, test libraries, and modular asset guidance that scales across global campaigns and growth initiatives.
• Performance Creative Strategy & Testing: 
  • Define paid media creative frameworks across Meta, YouTube, TikTok and other priority channels; codify hooks, formats, messaging, pacing, and platform-native best practices.
  • Help build the learning agenda with media and analytics teams; set hypotheses, variants, audience logic, success metrics, and readout plans for A/B and multivariate tests.
  • Translate historical and in-market performance into future creative direction, templates, and standards that improve CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS, and LTV signals.
  • Partner with media, analytics, localization/regional, creative, and influencer/creator teams to connect creative strategy to media plans, measurement, market nuance, and creator amplification.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• 6+ years experience in art direction, performance marketing creative, video production or related hands-on creative execution roles. 
• Hybrid maker and leader mindset with proven ability to move quickly from insight to concept to asset, while also setting strategic direction, codifying learnings, and guiding scalable performance creative systems.
• Proven understanding of platform-native creative across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, or similar platforms.
• Required: Strong portfolio demonstrating both creative thinking and finished execution, particularly short-form video and social-first work, for organic or paid social and performance marketing campaigns. 
• Required: Proven hands-on experience, across concepting and storyboarding, video editing, motion graphics, gameplay capture, and creative strategy. 
• Required: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator with animation or motion design capability to support short-form video and performance asset iteration.
• Required: Proven experience directing creatives, production partners, and/or agencies with a strong creative judgment and an instinct for what will capture attention and feel authentic in-feed without losing brand quality.
• Fluency with performance metrics and learning agendas, including CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS, LTV signals, audience/placement reads, and test interpretation.
• Bonus: Gaming, entertainment, creator economy, or culturally driven brand experience.
