About the Role
The Country Club Restaurant Hostess plays a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and refined dining experience for all members and guests. This position is responsible for managing the flow of guests in the restaurant, ensuring timely seating, and maintaining an organized and pleasant environment. The hostess serves as the first point of contact, setting the tone for exceptional customer service and hospitality. By coordinating with the waitstaff and kitchen team, the hostess helps optimize table turnover while respecting the leisurely pace expected in a country club setting. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to member satisfaction and the overall reputation of the club's dining services.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a restaurant or club environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills for managing reservations and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a country club or upscale dining environment.
- Familiarity with reservation management software.

Responsibilities
- Greet members and guests warmly upon arrival and provide courteous assistance throughout their dining experience.
- Manage reservations and walk-in seating efficiently to maximize dining room capacity without compromising service quality.
- Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times clearly and professionally to guests.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely seating arrangements.
- Monitor dining room conditions, including cleanliness and ambiance, and report any issues to management promptly.
- Assist with answering phone calls, taking reservations, and providing information about the restaurant and club amenities.
- Handle special requests and accommodate guests' needs with discretion and professionalism.
- Support the team during peak hours by managing guest traffic and assisting with other front-of-house duties as needed.
