Summary
The Counselor Assistant is responsible for monitoring the physical and emotional status of clients while ensuring program compliance and safety within the residence. They also manage incident reporting, maintain logs, and provide support and motivation to residents.
Job Description
Location: Men's Stabilization/Rehabilitation Residence 68 Quaker Rd Queensbury, NY 12804
Shift: Every Saturday and Sunday, 12am-8am
Counselor Assistant's Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and observing the physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted client's day or night. The Counselor Assistant completes rounds and logging information as well as all the other responsibilities.
2. Daily and nightly monitoring and reporting on all Residential client rooms, kitchen, and common areas for program compliance, health, safety, and security.
3. Reports progress on residence at every shift change.
4. Provides assistant to residents, this includes motivation, support and encouragement for client goals.
5. Logs telephone, personal visits and significant event or information during your shift into the Residential logbook.
6. Assumes responsibility for managing and reporting incidents.
7. Perform urine drug screens as needed.
8. Make calls to local ambulance service, fire department or police as needed.
Licenses, Certificates, or Registrations: Valid New York State driver license. CPR and First Aid certified preferred
Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED
