The Opportunity

Ziff Davis is hiring a Corporate Counsel to join our growing Technology & Shopping division. In this role, you will serve as a core legal partner supporting six distinct business units, including trusted brands such as CNET, ZDNET, PC Magazine, Lifehacker, Spiceworks, AskMen, RetailMeNot, and Mashable. Reporting to our Legal Department leadership based in New York and California, this full-time role offers a remote work structure with the flexibility to work out of a company office if preferred. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional, international business and sales teams to serve as a trusted resource for contract guidance and process improvements. Key Responsibilities

Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including key vendor and revenue-generating contracts.

Provide practical legal and strategic advice to internal stakeholders to help business units safely achieve their operational goals.

Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments and regulatory guidance impacting digital media, technology, and shopping services.

Continually develop, implement, and refine internal contract processes, workflows, and team procedures to increase efficiency.

Evaluate legal risks, recommend courses of action, and exercise sound judgment on when to escalate complex issues to legal leadership.

Job Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

●        Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills with excellent attention to detail.

●        Sound, practical legal and business judgment with an ability to work independently in a cross-functional, international environment.

●        Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build productive working relationships with internal clients and cross-functional teams.

Required Education and/or Experience

●        J.D. from an accredited law school and active state bar membership in good standing.

●        2–4 years of experience as a practicing attorney within a law firm or an in-house corporate legal department.

Compensation Range

Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is $125,000 to $135,000. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
