Coordinator of College Engagement & Student Experience

Shenandoah University’s School of Business is accepting applications for a Coordinator of College Engagement & Student Experience. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia. 

The Coordinator of Student Experience, Engagement & Outreach is responsible for the coordination and execution of student-facing initiatives across the College of Business, Engineering & Technology. This position supports the full student lifecycle—from prospective student engagement through ongoing student participation—by integrating event planning, outreach support, student services coordination, and communication efforts. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Services & Engagement, the Coordinator plays a central role in delivering a cohesive and high-quality student experience while serving as a key liaison between the College, the Office of Marketing & Communications, the Office of Admissions, and advising functions. The role ensures that student engagement, recruitment support, and communication efforts are aligned, well-executed, and responsive to student needs.

Reporting Relationship and Organizational Integration:

Reports to the Associate Dean for Student Services

Operates under the strategic direction of the Associate Dean, who retains overall responsibility for student experience, retention, and engagement initiatives. Works in close coordination with the Office of Marketing & Communications for messaging, promotion, and branding; the Office of Admissions for recruitment and yield activities; advising functions (college-level or university advising office) for student support coordination; and various university offices for major college-level events. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and division chairs to support student programming and engagement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Student Engagement and Event Coordination:

Plan, coordinate, and execute student-facing events, including recruitment and yield events in collaboration with Admissions, co-curricular and engagement programming, student recognition and awards ceremonies, and signature College events. Manage all logistical aspects of events, including scheduling, space coordination, vendor management, communications, and on-site execution. Maintain a comprehensive calendar of student engagement and College events. Ensure consistency, professionalism, and quality across all student-facing experiences.

Student Support and Services Coordination:

Provide front-line administrative support for student services functions, including responding to and triaging student inquiries, coordinating advising appointments and student support processes, and assisting with documentation, tracking, and follow-up related to student engagement and support. Work closely with the Associate Dean to support student success and retention initiatives. Monitor patterns in student engagement and help identify opportunities for outreach or intervention. Coordinate with advising personnel to ensure students are connected to appropriate academic and support resources.

Liaison to Office of Marketing and Communications:

Serve as the primary College-level liaison to the Office of Marketing & Communications. Coordinate development and dissemination of promotional materials for events, academic programs, and student engagement initiatives. Translate College needs into actionable marketing requests and timelines. Ensure alignment between College messaging and institutional branding standards. Assist in gathering and curating content such as student stories, event highlights, and photos for marketing and communication purposes.

Recruitment and Outreach Support:

Support execution of College-level recruitment and yield initiatives in coordination with Admissions. Assist with planning and delivery of campus visit days, prospective student experiences, outreach events, and follow-up communications. Collaborate with Admissions to enhance the quality and consistency of the prospective student experience. Help facilitate a seamless transition from prospective student to enrolled and engaged student.

Data Tracking, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement:

Track attendance, participation, and engagement across events and student programming. Maintain records and generate basic reports on student engagement and outreach activities. Provide data and insights to the Associate Dean to support decision-making and continuous improvement. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of events and engagement strategies.
