Job Description
Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities are serving as ambulatory surgery receptionist, scheduling appointments, obtaining insurance benefits, authorizations, processing information for admitting out-patients, charge capture and charge reconciliation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Registers and schedules outpatient surgical accounts, admits to appropriate surgical procedure area and assembles chart.
2. Clearly informs patients of insurance benefits.
3. Charge capture, charge reconciliation and maintain census/visit information.
4. Obtains and verifies appropriate insurance information, completion of MSP questionnaire, referrals and authorizations.
5. Serves as financial counselor, arranges payment plans and/or refer patients to other agencies for financial assistance as required.
Required:
- High school diploma.
- One year of related experience.
- Ability to operate a desktop computer and software. Should be familiar with a variety of software programs to support job needs in the office.
Preferred:
- One year of related experience in an ambulatory setting.
