Cook, Pastry- $1500 Signing Bonus

Job Details: Job Location: 137 S 4TH ST - Highlands, NC, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Old Edwards Hospitality Group is seeking a creative and dependable Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. This position assists with preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods while maintaining our standards for presentation, consistency, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake pastries, desserts, breads, cakes, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist with daily production, plating, decorating, and presentation.
Measure, mix, and portion ingredients accurately.
Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and temperature controls.
Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
Monitor ingredient levels and communicate product or supply needs.
Minimize waste while maintaining quality and consistency.
Assist with special events, seasonal menus, and custom dessert requests.
Collaborate with chefs and other culinary team members to ensure timely service.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Previous pastry, baking, or professional kitchen experience preferred.
Culinary or pastry training is helpful but not required.
Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, measurements, and kitchen equipment.
Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.
Ability to follow recipes and production schedules consistently.
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, push, and perform repetitive motions.
Comfortable working around hot ovens, refrigeration, and standard commercial kitchen equipment.
