The Electrical Engineering Technician reports to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor.  This role will assist and coordinate between the Engineering department and the Maintenance department for various projects needs.  They will assist with maintenance of documentation and drawings, knowledge of systems, and various hands on tasks as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in developing, planning and cost estimates of projects as requested by the Electrical Engineering Supervisor
Coordination of implementation of projects; working with equipment suppliers, outside contractors, maintenance foreman and various departments involved.
Facilitate outsourced contractor’s activities on KFI premises consulting with the Electrical Engineering Supervisor
Assist with various maintenance items as requested by the Electrical Engineering Supervisor
Assist with maintenance electricians on programming and system improvements and maintain drawings on any maintenance work
Work with maintenance to provide exposure and further knowledge on various systems
Assist with various capital improvement projects
Review all paperwork required for ordering, receiving and verifying once procured
Create and maintain technical documentation (electrical drawings) once project is complete
Attend meetings and help/advise maintenance so that maintenance can take actions properly following requirements from HACCP/GMP/SQF, Safety or ISO standards including all necessary paperwork consulting with manager or the other department
Assist with maintaining SCADA and PLC System
Provide necessary support on maintenance projects
Comply with all departmental & company-wide food safety policies and procedures
Responsible to report actual or potential food safety concerns to upper management
All other duties as assigned

Education & Training:

Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering

QualificationsEducation & Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment. 
Preferred experience includes overall industrial project management with an emphasis on production process engineering.  Some facilities engineering and utilities experience are also preferred.
Candidates must be proficient with AutoCAD and experienced in production process and plant layout. 
Food industry experience is strongly preferred.

Regularly required to sit for long periods of time doing office tasks on a computer

Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
Occasionally required to reach above shoulders, climb, crouch, stoop or kneel
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds usually from floor to waist level, up to 20 feet away
Ability to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of time
