Continuous Improvement Intern

Essential Job Functions

Assist with Continuous Improvement projects across the organization.

Collect, organize, and analyze operational data.

Create and update process maps (VSMs), standardized work, and visual management tools.

Support KPI tracking and dashboard updates.

Participate in Kaizen events and problem-solving activities.

Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Document project progress, action items, and results.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support improvement initiatives.

Prepare presentations and reports for project updates.

Learn and apply Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.

Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.

Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments

Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts such as time studies, line balancing, and 5S principles

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to collect, analyze, and document operational data

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and operations

Must be proficient & knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Must be detail oriented and well organized

Ability to work in-person during the summer

Physical/Mental/Sensory Requirements

Able to lift up to 35 lbs

Able to stand and sit for various lengths of time

Able to bend/twist and reach a limited amount of time

Working Conditions

Mix of office and production floor environment including:

Little to Medium noise level

Moderate temperature ranges

Minimum Requirements

(Education, Experience, and   Certification)

 Currently pursuing a Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.

Previous coursework or project experience related to manufacturing, production systems, or engineering analysis preferred.
