Position Title: Culinary Supervisor

Pay Range: $18.00 to  $22.00

Job Summary

Levy at American Airlines Center is seeking a motivated, service-driven, and experienced event-based part-time Culinary Supervisor to join our Culinary Concessions team. This event-based, part-time leadership role will be responsible for directing and supervising food-service associates in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Advises management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
• Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Operates and cleans equipment in accordance with department procedures after each use.
• Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy; maintains established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Operates food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
• Helps serves meals; remains present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum (3) years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
• Minimum (1) year of Food and Beverage, Hotel/ Hospitality, Club or Full-Service Restaurant experience.
• Valid ServSafe or state-approved Food Handler's certification.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and time management.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to remain focused in a loud and busy environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
