ONSITE REQUIREMENTS: This position is a primarily on-site position, and will involve occasional trips to community partner sites

THE POSITION

Studio Theatre is seeking a diligent, creative, relationship-minded artistic administrator to support our efforts in Community Engagement. This part-time role (expected to be scheduled eight hours per week) supports the Artistic Department's work in community partnerships, community nights, and Studio's affordability program. Reporting to the Associate Artistic Director, the Community Engagement Assistant will support our mission to improve access to Studio’s productions and create and nurture connections within our community that are transformative instead of transactional. This position will work primarily onsite, with some nights and weekends required for Community Engagement events. There is a potential for this position to expand to more hours in future seasons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interface with Community Partners, alongside Associate AD and Artistic Producing Fellow
• Facilitate Community Nights and special events for community engagement in partnership with the Artistic and Marketing departments.
• Maintain and expand our Affordable Access Program. 
• Other duties within the Artistic department as assigned

• Travel between multiple locations (Theatre, Community Partners, etc.)
• Moderate physical needs—able to lift upward of 20lbs
• Stand for a prolonged period of time while staffing events
• Reach (above head), lift, and carry packages and supplies

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

This post requires a collaborative mindset as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. We expect a candidate will have:

• The ability to monitor project needs and coordinate with coworkers accordingly.
• Attention to detail and the ability to creatively problem solve and own tasks from start to finish.
• The ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects
• Organizational and administrative skills including ability to handle confidential information.
• Experience and excitement about working with diverse groups of individuals.

COMPENSATION: 

This position is a part-time, hourly non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $20.00/hour.
