Community Doula - (Louisiana)

Malama leverages the best of technology and people to deliver exceptional care - we build novel biometric tracking and patient engagement tools that allow skilled Care Managers to provide high-touch care navigation and coordination for pregnant and postpartum mothers that improves health outcomes for mom and baby.

Malama is expanding its doula provider network in Louisiana and is looking for experienced birth doulas to support pregnant and postpartum Medicaid members.

As a Malama doula, you will remain an independent practitioner while Malama supports the administrative side of working with health insurance, including provider enrollment, credentialing, billing, and payment.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not a W-2 employment position.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum doula support.
• Provide culturally responsive emotional, informational, and physical support aligned with each member’s preferences and needs.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services.
• Follow applicable privacy, documentation, quality, and payer requirements.
• Coordinate with Malama’s care team when a member needs support outside the doula scope of practice.

• Experienced birth doula practicing in Louisiana
• Approved for the Louisiana Doula Registry, or eligible and willing to complete the registration process
• Willing to complete applicable Louisiana Medicaid and health-plan enrollment and credentialing requirements
• Experience providing prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum support

• Credentialing & Administrative Support
  Malama supports provider enrollment, credentialing, billing, and administrative processes associated with delivering covered doula services.
• Flexible, Independent Practice
  You set your availability and can continue operating your own doula practice and working with other organizations.
• Reliable Payment
  Malama handles billing for services delivered through Malama and pays doulas on a regular payment schedule. Compensation based on applicable reimbursable doula services.
