Montcure, LLC is an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business delivering financial management, audit readiness, internal controls, data analytics, and program support to federal clients across the Department of Defense and civilian agencies. This role supports a Department of Defense health program serving wounded, ill, and injured service members and their caregivers.

About the Role

We're seeking a Communications Specialist to produce outreach material against a controlled program fact base: newsletters and topic-specific products, graphics and social content coordinated with the Department's communications organization, communications plan development and review, Section 508 conformance, and impact assessment using program inquiry traffic and survey indicators.

What You'll Do

• Produce newsletters and topic-specific outreach products
• Develop graphics and social content coordinated with the Department's communications organization
• Develop and review communications plans
• Ensure Section 508 conformance across outreach materials
• Assess outreach impact using program inquiry traffic and survey indicators

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, journalism, or a related field
• 3+ years of communications or public affairs support to a federal client
• Demonstrated plain-language writing for general audiences
• Experience producing Section 508 conformant documents and materials
• Experience developing newsletters and topic-specific outreach products
• Experience coordinating products through a customer review and approval chain

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and at least one design or publishing tool

Preferred Qualifications

• Section 508 or digital accessibility credential
• Experience developing and reviewing communications plans
• Experience writing for service members, veterans, families, or caregivers
• Graphic design, photography, or social media content development
• Experience assessing the effectiveness of outreach products
• Experience supporting a federal communications or public affairs office

• Comfortable navigating a customer review and approval chain without losing momentum
• Detail-oriented about accessibility and conformance requirements
• Curious about what's actually landing with the audience, not just what got published

Status: Contingency – This work is contingent upon award.

Salary: $60,000 - 70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
