Commerical Carpenter

Job Summary

The Commercial Carpenter performs skilled carpentry and related construction work on commercial projects. This position reads plans, completes layouts, installs building components, and performs work according to project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The Commercial Carpenter may also assist with other construction trades based on project needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, measurements, and layout information.
• Perform commercial carpentry work, including framing, blocking, doors, trim, cabinetry, finishes, and specialty installations.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other construction equipment.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials accurately.
• Inspect completed work and correct quality issues when identified.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company, jobsite, OSHA, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Coordinate work with the Lead Foreman, Superintendent, employees, and subcontractors.
• Complete assigned work accurately and within established project schedules.
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• At least three years of commercial construction or carpentry experience.
• Experience performing work in multiple construction trades is preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and use measuring and layout tools.
• Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and safety practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and ability to travel to assigned jobsites.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, if driving is an essential duty.
• While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; climb ladders and stairs; bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in confined or elevated areas; and regularly lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee may work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise levels, and active construction environments.
