Job Summary: 

Gain experience and exposure to practical engineering applications within the utility industry. Individual normally works under close supervision and will perform a variety of functions and work on various projects, working with engineers and engineering associates

Job Description:

Working in a team environment to assist with day-to-day activities, including but not limited to:

• Interface with external Customers to provide electric service.
• Design electric distribution facilities and perform various engineering studies using computer based systems.
• Work as part of a cross-function Team to meet the needs of Customers.
• Assist in outage restoration efforts as needed.
• Work is approximately 50% in office and 50% out of office, year around.
• Work assignment complexity and responsibility grows with tenure of student employees.
• Performs other duties as directed by management.
• Must be available to work full-time during the designated co-op semesters. 

Education Requirements:

•  Candidates must be actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond. 
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous 

Minimum Skills & Knowledge Required:

• Computer skills–- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must have good communication and Customer Service skills.

Work Conditions:

Office and Field work. Some situations might require ability to work in adverse climate conditions and physical nature of work may require walking long distances in uneven off-road environments. Some travel may be necessary.
