CNC Machining Specialist (Milling & Turning)
Location: Baltimore, MD
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: Starting at $28/hour (higher based on experience)
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machining Specialist to join a growing manufacturing team. This contract-to-hire role involves hands-on work producing high-precision components using CNC milling and turning equipment in a fast-paced shop environment.

What You’ll Do:
- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines
- Interpret blueprints, job travelers, and technical instructions
- Produce precision parts to tight tolerances (± .002")
- Inspect completed components using standard measuring tools
- Make program edits and assist in creating CNC programs as needed
- Develop and refine fixturing and setups for repeat production runs
- Troubleshoot machining and setup issues with minimal supervision
- Maintain workflow efficiency and adhere to production timelines
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of CNC programming experience
- 4–5 years of experience with machine setup and fixturing
- Familiarity with SolidWorks CAM Pro
- Strong understanding of tooling selection, feeds and speeds, and machining techniques
- Experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel
Additional Experience Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with lathes, drilling, grinding, milling, and hand tools
- Ability to perform basic machine maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate on process improvements
