Cloud Architect (Multi-Cloud)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Architect (Multi-Cloud) based in United States.

This senior architecture role focuses on designing multi-cloud strategies and platform capabilities across AWS, Azure, GCP, and selectively OCI.
You will shape reference architectures that enable enterprises to operate across multiple cloud providers while managing complexity, security, and interoperability.
The role emphasizes portability, abstraction, federated identity, cross-cloud networking, and reusable platform capabilities.
You will help product and engineering teams benefit from cloud services without exposing them to unnecessary provider-specific complexity.
The position requires strong architectural judgment and a practical understanding of the trade-offs between cloud portability and cloud-native capabilities.
You will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to lead complex multi-cloud initiatives from strategy through implementation.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced cloud architect with significant production experience across multiple major cloud platforms.

Accountabilities

• Design multi-cloud strategies, reference architectures, and platform capabilities spanning AWS, Azure, GCP, and selectively OCI.

• Develop architectures that address portability, abstraction, interoperability, security, and operational consistency across cloud environments.

• Define abstraction layers and platform services that reduce cloud-specific complexity for product and engineering teams.

• Architect federated identity, single sign-on, and access-management capabilities across multiple cloud providers.

• Design and guide cross-cloud networking architectures that support secure and reliable connectivity between environments.

• Establish infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code approaches that can be consistently applied across cloud platforms.

• Evaluate the trade-offs between cloud portability, abstraction, and the use of cloud-native services, providing architecture recommendations grounded in practical production experience.

• Guide the adoption of Kubernetes, container platforms, managed cloud services, and related technologies within multi-cloud environments.

• Lead multi-cloud architecture initiatives and collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, and product stakeholders.

• Help develop reusable platform capabilities and architectural standards that support enterprise-scale cloud adoption.

• Contribute to large-scale cloud-to-cloud migration strategies and execution where required.

• Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and opportunities while communicating complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.

• Support the evolution of cloud governance, security, networking, identity, observability, and platform engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture or closely related roles, with substantial experience designing enterprise cloud environments.

• Hands-on architecture experience across at least two major cloud providers, with exposure to AWS, Azure, and/or GCP; OCI experience is valuable.

• Deep understanding of multi-cloud networking, identity, access management, security, and platform architecture.

• Strong experience implementing infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code across cloud environments.

• Proven experience designing federated identity and SSO solutions spanning multiple cloud platforms.

• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, container platforms, managed cloud services, and modern cloud-native architectures.

• Demonstrated experience leading multi-cloud architecture initiatives from strategy through implementation.

• Strong understanding of the architectural trade-offs between cloud portability, abstraction, and provider-specific capabilities.

• Multiple cloud certifications across major cloud providers.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, technical leadership, and architecture documentation skills.

• Experience with abstraction and platform technologies such as Crossplane, Pulumi, or Terraform CDK is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud-agnostic observability platforms is an advantage.

• Experience leading large-scale cloud-to-cloud migrations is preferred.

• Exposure to regulated environments with multi-cloud requirements is valuable.

• Public speaking, technical writing, or published perspectives on multi-cloud architecture are a plus.

• U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates are encouraged to apply; new H-1B visa sponsorship is not available.

• Annual salary range of $130,000–$170,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
