Position Summary

We are seeking an organized, proactive, and supportive After-School Closing Manager to oversee our afternoon program. In this key leadership role, you will support our after-school staff, design engaging student activities, partner with parents during pickup, and ensure seamless communication with the Director and Assistant Director. You will also oversee end-of-day operations to ensure our facility is clean, compliant with state regulations, and ready for the next school day.

Schedule

The required work schedule for this position is 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who can work additional hours up to a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Staff Leadership & Support: Guide, support, and mentor after-school staff, ensuring strong team performance, efficient classroom management, and a positive work environment.

• Activity Planning: Plan and implement creative, age-appropriate after-school activities aligned with Montessori principles and child development best practices.

• Bridge Communication: Serve as a reliable liaison between after-school staff, parents during pickup, and the Director/Assistant Director to ensure smooth operational continuity.

• Closing Operations & Facility Care: Oversee and execute daily closing procedures, including light cleaning, sanitization, dishes, room reset, and securing the building.

• Compliance & Safety: Ensure the program complies with all state childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies at all times.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Healthcare/Management preferred).

• Experience: Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development and familiarity with Montessori philosophy and state childcare regulations.

• Certifications: Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and state-required Health & Safety training (paid for and provided by our school).

• Clearances: Ability to pass a background check, health assessment, TB test, and fulfill state regulations.

• Core Skills: Excellent time management, strong employee management, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational ability.
