Our Clinical Model

Our care model uses gold standard approaches to address the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Developed with leading clinical experts in trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ care, it pairs affirming, evidence-based treatment with proprietary tools that extend care beyond the session. A stand out among them is our Trauma Journal, a structured Written Exposure Therapy-inspired tool that supports clients with trauma-related presenting concerns between visits and deepens the impact of their therapy work. This is what allows our clinicians to deliver the outcomes above, and it is a core part of what makes practicing at Allswell different.

About the Role

Due to our high client demand, we’re scaling our clinical team and seeking experienced board-approved supervisors to support our talented associate clinicians. A dual license across MD and VA is highly preferred.

In this role, you will provide individual and group clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians, ensuring high standards of care, ethical compliance, and deep alignment with LGBTQIA+-affirming methodologies.

This is a fully remote part-time role at 20 hours expected per week - we are flexible in hiring either a W2 (employee) or 1099 (contractor). 20 hours per week will consist of a supervisee caseload of 20-24 therapists (with the expectation of individual supervision 2x/month), with the remaining hours being filled with 1-2 supervision groups per week, and a small client caseload to stay relevant and connected to the work of your supervisees.

What You'll Do

• Clinical supervision: provide weekly individual and group clinical supervision to associate clinicians (LGPC, LMSW, Resident in Counseling, etc.).

• Assessment & documentation: review and sign off on clinical documentation, treatment plans, and diagnosis codes in compliance with state board regulations and payor requirements.

• Clinical leadership: guide supervisees in clinical best practices surrounding LGBTQIA+ mental health, including gender-affirming care, trauma-informed practices, minority stress model application, and family/relationship dynamics.

• Risk management: support associates during clinical crises and high-risk client evaluations.

• Care quality: collaborate with Allswell leadership on clinical quality assurance, associate development, and state board licensing tracking.

• Direct client care: carry a small caseload at Allswell to stay relevant and connected to supervisees.

Who You Are

• Licensure:

  • Active, unrestricted independent clinical license in Maryland (LCPC, LCSW-C) OR Virginia (LPC, LCSW).

  • Formal Board-Approved Supervisor status with the relevant board in your licensing state(s), qualifying you to supervise associate-level clinicians in your profession (social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy).

• Clinical expertise: minimum 2 years of experience providing direct clinical supervision.

• Cultural competence: demonstrated experience and clinical mastery in LGBTQIA+ mental health concerns, gender-affirming care protocols, and intersectional identity frameworks.

What We'd Love to See

• Dual licensure in both Maryland and Virginia (LCPC/LPC or LCSW-C/LCSW or LCMFT/LMFT).

• Experience delivering tele-supervision within a digital health or multi-state group practice.

• Experience serving clients at the intersections of the LGBTQ+ community, including BIPOC and neurodivergent clients.

• Familiarity with a range of evidence-based modalities, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or CPT.
