Description

Asbury Theological Seminary is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position (at the assistant or associate professor rank) to serve as Field Placement Clinical Coordinator in the CACREP-accredited programs for the Asbury Seminary. The Field Placement Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of all practicum and internship experiences in the SoC programs to ensure quality clinical training experiences in accordance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and laws, relevant professional organizations’ rules, and consistent with CACREP Standards.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of counseling and Christianity within the Wesleyan theological tradition and have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program. Alternatively, candidates with related doctoral degrees must have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013; or have been employed as a full-time doctoral-level faculty member in a CORE-accredited master’s program prior to July 1, 2017 (CACREP 2024 Standard Section 1. Y.2; 1.Y.3).

Candidates must

• ….. be licensed or license eligible as a professional counselor within their state of residence and demonstrate a clear professional counselor identity.

• ….. identify with the counseling profession through memberships in professional organizations (i.e., ACA and/or its divisions); professional development pertinent to the profession; scholarly activity, and service, and advocacy to the profession.

• ….. have knowledge of CACREP standards and have experience in teaching in in-person, online, hybrid and/or intensive course delivery models.

• ….. have a research/scholarship agenda in counseling and/or counselor education and supervision that unites faith, research, and professional practice.

• ….. have broad and extensive clinical experience

• ….. have relevant training and supervision experience

• …..have good communication skills, organizational skills, managerial or leadership experience, and a working knowledge of telehealth and HIPAA regulations.

The faculty appointment would be located at the Wilmore campus at the Seminary’s Kentucky site or the Global Asbury Community and may include some travel to the Global Extension sites (Orlando, Tampa, Tulsa, Memphis, and Colorado Springs). The normal teaching load for will be three courses for the year, as determined by the Provost and Dean, with an eleven-month contract and possible teaching deployments within the eleven-month time frame as determined by programmatic needs. Specific teaching assignments are determined by programmatic needs by the Dean of the School of Counseling in consultation with the offices of the Provost and Academic Affairs of Asbury Global. The Field Placement Clinical Coordinator will supervise and work with assigned staff to maintain practicum and internship files, digital software systems, and documentation pertaining to student applications for field placement courses.

The preferred, though negotiable, starting date is January 1, 2027. The position will remain open until filled.Qualifications: Experience in teaching, administration, or clinical supervision and strong organization skills, communication abilities, and familiarity with tracking software are highly desirable.
