What You'll Do
As a Registered Dietitian, you'll provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, education, and medical nutrition therapy to support optimal patient outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
🥗 Assessing patients' nutritional status and developing individualized nutrition care plans
🩺 Providing medical nutrition therapy for patients with acute and chronic health conditions
📋 Conducting nutrition screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluations to monitor patient progress
📚 Educating patients and families on disease-specific diets, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications
🤝 Collaborating with physicians, nurses, speech therapists, pharmacists, and case management to coordinate patient care
🍽️ Working closely with Food & Nutrition Services to ensure patients receive appropriate therapeutic diets
📊 Documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR)
📖 Participating in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance activities, and community wellness programs
❤️ Promoting evidence-based nutrition practices that improve patient health and recovery
What We're Looking For
✔ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field required
✔ Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required
✔ Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the State of Illinois required (or eligible upon hire)
✔ Previous clinical nutrition experience in an acute care hospital preferred
✔ Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, therapeutic diets, and nutrition support
✔ Excellent communication, counseling, and patient education skills
✔ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
✔ Passion for improving patient outcomes through nutrition and wellness
