Under direct supervision of clinical nurse manager, the clinical aide guides patients through their visit to the clinic, assuring patients have been screened prior to entering the building and directing them to the appropriate department to optimize patient flow through clinic.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Greets patients entering clinic and directs them to appropriate department for their visit.
Gather, stock, and prepare supplies
Prepare lab-test kits
Assemble Clinic registration packets
Works as liaison between Medical Assistants and Receptionists
Practices standard safety precautions to ensure safety to self, other staff and patients.
Ensures confidentially of all patient, family, provider, and other staff information. Only discusses patient information when pertinent to care and only with appropriate personnel.
Maintains a clean work environment in personal spaces, staff space, and patient spaces such as exam rooms.
Maintains and cares for office and clinical equipment and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes equipment.
Upholds Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Policies and Procedures, infection control standards, applicable state, federal and local laws.

 
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED
Computer literate (i.e. logging on to computer, usage of keyboard and mouse, familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel).
Ability to type 40 wpm.
Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, walking and stretching during patient care.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

Familiarity with an electronic practice management (EMR) system.
Medical terminology
Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
