Church Family Advocacy Ministry FAM Coach

The vision of Commission 127 is that kids from hard places experience the love of Jesus through a well-supported family. Our mission is to strengthen and support foster, adoptive, and biological families in crisis by building community and equipping churches to launch and lead Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs).

POSITION SUMMARY The Church FAM Coach (part time) is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM) strategy with partner churches. This includes primary focus on developing and maintaining a network of churches for FAMs and providing administrative support for PromiseServes with training and coaching of Church Advocates, as well as representing Commission 127 and the FAM mission at various events. 

The Church FAM Coach oversees and encourages the current and future Church Advocates by educating, coaching, shepherding, and continuing to invest in their growth and development as they lead their respective churches’ Family Advocacy Ministries. 
One would thrive in this role if (s)he is committed to Jesus and the Church, is highly relational, and has administrative gifts for managing relationships and processes. This individual should have a passion for the vulnerable child and for mobilizing churches and organizations to collaborate across denominational lines while partnering with child-serving agencies. 
Key Responsibilities 
Church FAM Engagement & Organizational Support 

● Build ongoing relationships with churches to develop and strengthen Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs) ● Provide clear communication about next steps, upcoming trainings, and new opportunities● Encourage, coach, and support Advocates while maintaining and deepening relationships with through consistent monthly check-ins (phone, in-person, and email) ● Assist and support Advocates during their awareness meetings, orientations, and meet-and-greets (typically on nights or weekends) ● Recruit new churches and respond promptly to all inquiries with clear next steps ● Track and report the status of each FAM and their active Care Communities, establishing a monthly rhythm for updates, accountability, and support ● Think creatively to help churches with FAMs to plan and implement Serve Days with families● Coordinate and participate in church-facing trainings, orientations, and monthly/quarterly Advocate gatherings ● Help problem-solve and offer creative strategies to ministry leaders to strengthen their FAM by adding new tools ● Follow processes and best practices to ensure quality control and overall effectiveness of Care Communities ● Explore and support the formation of new Care Communities, including options that combine volunteers from multiple churches ● Supports and attends C127 organizational events, providing hospitality, setup, and presence as needed. ● Be flexible and collaborate closely with the C127 leadership team and FAM Coach team 
Administration, Systems & Communication 

● Manage and maintain all Advocate and volunteer information within PromiseServes/myFam and internal spreadsheets, ensuring accurate statuses, updated contacts, and proper placement of volunteers on Care Community teams ● Provide administrative and systems support by guiding Advocates in effectively using PromiseServes, assisting with creation of new Care Communities, and maintaining strong database processes ● Prepare and distribute information to churches about upcoming events, trainings, and important updates ● Respond to emails, calls, and texts in a timely, professional, and supportive manner ● Document interactions, updates, and progress notes to ensure clarity and continuity across the FAM team 
General Qualifications 

● Skilled facilitator with experience leading groups, meetings, or community gatherings 
● Strong communicator able to share information clearly and extend compelling invitations 
● Proficient with technology and comfortable learning new systems ● Highly relational with a commitment to follow-through and responsiveness 
● Self-starter who can work independently and manage time well ● Love for and experience in presenting or teaching preferred ● Minimum of 2 years of experience in church ministry, community development, or related work 
● Demonstrates integrity and character in a small, trust-based team environment 
● Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills ● Actively engaged in a local church and able to commit 16-20 hours/week (based on fit), beginning August / September 2026
