Job Title: Children’s Snow Sports Supervisor

Reports to: Ski School Manager

The Children's Snow Sports Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of children's ski and snowboard lessons, ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment for young guests. This role coordinates instructors and lesson assignments based on age, ability, and guest needs; supports instructors in delivering age-appropriate instruction; and serves as a point of contact for children, parents, and guardians. The Children's Snow Sports Supervisor helps ensure a positive and memorable experience for young guests while supporting the development and performance of the Snowsports instruction team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate instructors and daily children's lessons based on guest age, ability, experience, and program needs.
• Ensure instructors provide safe, effective, and age-appropriate instruction using techniques appropriate to each child's ability level.
• Support instructors in creating a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment for children.
• Monitor lessons and instructor performance to ensure safety, instructional quality, and adherence to Ski & Ride Academy standards.
• Track lesson completion and approve instructor tasks through FLAIK.
• Promote safe skiing and riding practices and ensure instructors teach children appropriate mountain safety and the Skiers’ Responsibility Code.
• Greet children and their parents/guardians and direct guests to the appropriate lesson locations and meeting areas.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and guardians regarding lesson questions, concerns, and guest service needs.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding children's progress, lesson experiences, and any concerns that may arise.
• Respond appropriately to children's individual needs and help instructors adapt lessons to different learning styles, abilities, and comfort levels.
• Monitor children during lesson transitions and assist with maintaining appropriate supervision and safety standards.
• Assist with resolving guest concerns and employee conflicts while adhering to Camelback Resort's core values and guest service standards.
• Provide guidance, feedback, and support to instructors to promote continued development and improvement.
• Observe and enforce all resort, Ski & Ride Academy, and Learning Center policies and procedures.
• Adhere to Camelback Resort Customer Service Standards, Company policies, seasonal and daily Service Guidelines, and department checklists.
• Communicate effectively with instructors, supervisors, parents/guardians, and all members of the Camelback Resort team.
• Assist the Ski & Ride Academy with daily ski and snowboard school operations and other functions as required.
• Participate in instructor clinics, training, and complimentary skiing/riding opportunities to maintain and continually improve personal skills.
• Participate in the business planning process for the department and resort.
• Actively support and participate in Company initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience working with children in a teaching, coaching, recreation, childcare, or similar environment preferred.
• PSIA/AASI Level 1 certification or ability to obtain Level 1 certification.
• Successful completion of Camelback Resort's required instructor training.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with children and teaching.
• Strong guest service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
• Ability to adapt instruction and communication styles to meet individual children's needs and abilities.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be capable of skiing/riding for prolonged periods of time and navigating varied terrain and weather conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
• Basic computer competency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applicable systems.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
