Role Overview

The Chief of Staff serves as a key strategic and operational lead, driving execution across People Operations, Business Operations, and Business Development. Working directly with executive leadership, this role manages organizational infrastructure, legal and security compliance, employee administration, and strategic B2B partner relationships to support scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities

People Operations

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing and retirement plan administration.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and leave management policies.
• Serve as the internal point of contact for employee benefits and HR operational inquiries.

Business Operations, Audit & Compliance

• Own and manage organizational compliance initiatives, including driving SOC2 readiness, and lead annual corporate insurance renewals and ongoing risk management processes
• Manage 50-state operational compliance and entity state qualifications in partnership with external compliance vendors
• Serve as the primary operational liaison to outside legal counsel for corporate and contractual matters.
• Directly manage the Executive Assistant (EA) and establish delegation frameworks to optimize administrative and executive workflows.

Business Development & Strategic Growth

• Drive end-to-end B2B partnership management and lead initiatives focused on partner success and retention.
• Establish data-sharing protocols and maintain regular performance reporting and dashboarding for key clients and partners.
• Own and execute the Request for Information/Proposal (RFI/RFP) process, writing and assembling materials for business development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in business operations, chief of staff, or general management roles within a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in basic People Ops workflows (payroll, 401k, leave, onboarding).
• Proven track record of managing external vendors, legal counsel, and complex multi-state operational requirements.
• Experience managing executive support personnel and delegating complex administrative workflows.
• Strong written communication and analytical skills, with specific experience executing RFIs and client reporting frameworks.

Position Details:

• Full time (1.0 FTE)
• Hiring range: $120K-$180K
