Program Leadership
American Fork City is seeking a part-time Cheer Program Supervisor to guide youth cheer development and support a safe, well-run program for athletes ages 8–15. This role exists to deliver consistent, age-appropriate instruction while helping teams build confidence, technique, and performance readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead cheer, dance, and tumbling instruction; teach motions, jumps, flexibility, strength, and performance skills
- Safely spot athletes and support tumbling progressions
- Set team and individual skill goals, track participation, and prepare for performances
- Maintain an organized practice space; follow program policies, safety procedures, and facility expectations
- Communicate professionally with parents, athletes, and recreation staff; assist with recruiting and program growth
Required qualifications/skills:
- Strong background in cheer and dance; ability to spot tumbling skills
- Experience coaching ages 8–15; dependable, responsible, and enthusiastic
- Clear leadership and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain

Practice Nights
You arrive a few minutes early on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5–8 pm) to confirm the space is set, music is ready, and safety expectations are clear. As athletes check in, you connect briefly with parents, then move into a structured warm-up that keeps energy high and focus steady. The session flows through technique work, skill stations, and routine preparation, with time built in for water breaks and quick resets. You close by reinforcing progress, outlining what to practice next, and sharing concise updates with recreation staff. Each night ends with the facility left orderly and athletes leaving encouraged, challenged, and excited to return.
