Pain Clinic Nurse

Part Time 730A-4P

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Reports to the Clinics Administrator and Clinic Supervisor. The purpose of this position is to provide general nursing care and leadership; working collaboratively with physicians and multi-disciplinary team members in maintaining standards for professional nurse practice in a clinic setting. The RN will promote and restore patient's health as they prescribe, provide, delegate, evaluate and coordinates comprehensive professional nursing care through the use of the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and background; provide physical and psycho-social support to patients, friends and families. 

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Demonstrates and supports service excellence according to BMC Employees Expectation of Excellence 100% of the time.

​2.     Demonstrates ability to consistently meet Clinic Nurse Manager/Supervisor request, committee responsibilities and performance improvement data collection as outlined by supervisor 95% of the time. 
3.     Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence. This will be demonstrated by the completion and documentation (Employee Development Record) of all competencies, clinic specific skills, HealthStream, annual in-services, corporate compliance 95% of the defined time. 
4.     Demonstrates consistent ability to meet Personal Performance Summary Standards. 
5.     Attends unit/staff meetings 75% of the time. 
6.     Handwriting is legible 100% of the time. 
7.     Demonstrates compliance with patient confidentiality 100% of the time. 
8.     Demonstrates competence in specific computer applications. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Current RN license recognized by the State of Iowa Board of Nursing

2.     Knowledge of nursing care in accordance with regulations and practices established by the Iowa Board of Nursing. 
3.     Successful demonstration of competence in Basic Life Support (Health Care Provider). 
4.     Successful completion of Clinical Services general nursing and unit specific orientation. 
5.    Consistently demonstrates a team approach to care. 
6.     Demonstrates effective communication strategies. 
7.    Familiarity with the use of a computer.
