SCHOOL MISSION: The mission of CCHS, in partnership with the home, is to provide a college preparatory education, immersed in a biblical worldview, that prepares our students to impact the world for Christ.

MINISTERIAL FUNCTION: Every Employee at Calvary Christian High School, whether a teacher, administrator, or staff member, is charged with playing a formative role in the spiritual lives of every student, their parents, and other CCHS Employees. Such responsibility includes praying with others, leading a class or in devotions, actively engaging in Biblical Integration through training and day-to-day implementation, sharing the Gospel with students and parents, and providing spiritual guidance. The duties of this position at CCHS shall not only include non-religious, secular responsibilities, but shall include religious responsibilities with a heart for the soul of every student, parent and co-worker. RESPONSIBLE TO:  Athletic Director 

WORK HOURS: This is a part-time, seasonal position. Hours vary based on the athletic schedule and typically include late afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend trips. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

Calvary Christian High School is seeking professional, safety-minded CDL drivers to transport our student-athletes and coaching staff to away games and athletic events. As a key member of our athletics program, you aren’t just a driver, you’re a representative of CCHS. We are looking for individuals who embody our school’s values and provide a safe, positive environment for our students while they are off-campus.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Safe Transportation: Safely operate 16-28 passenger shuttles to and from athletic venues across the region.
  2. Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough daily inspections of the vehicle (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits) to ensure 100% roadworthiness.
  3. Schedule Adherence: Maintain punctuality for team departures and coordinate with the Athletic Director or Head Coaches regarding arrival times and parking.
  4. Student Safety: Monitor student behavior on the bus to ensure all safety protocols are followed during transit.
  5. Vehicle Care: Ensure the shuttle remains clean and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately to the Facilities Department.
  6. Representation: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with coaches, parents, and opposing school staff.

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  1. License: Valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements. 
  2. MCSA Clearinghouse: Must have a "Clear" status in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  3. Medical Fitness: Possession of a current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate and the ability to pass the Florida-mandated annual physical dexterity test.
  4. Background Clearance: Must successfully pass a Level II AHCA fingerprint background check.
  5. Experience: Previous experience driving buses or large passenger shuttles is preferred.

SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Have a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ and seek to model Him in speech, actions, and attitude.
  2. Set an example of the importance of prayer, reading the Bible, and faithful local church attendance. 
  3. Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, and staff.
  4. Show support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education and assist them in the task.
  5. Encourage students to accept God's gift of salvation and to grow in their faith.
  6. Emphasize to students the reality of their self-worth in Christ.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support School Administration in carrying out the mission of the school.

2. Maintain confidentiality in all school-related matters.

3. Follow all Ethics guidelines and training set forth by the Employee Handbook.
