About the Role:

The Catering Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of catering services within the retail trade environment. This position is responsible for setting up catering events, maintaining food presentation standards, and providing exceptional customer service to clients and guests. The Catering Attendant collaborates closely with catering coordinators and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery and replenishment of food and beverages. Attention to detail and adherence to health and safety regulations are critical to maintaining a clean and inviting environment. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall customer experience and the success of catering operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service, catering, or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
• Experience working in a retail or event catering environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Multilingual abilities to assist diverse clientele.
• Customer service training or experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up catering stations according to event specifications and company standards.
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Monitor food levels and replenish items as needed to ensure continuous availability.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of catering areas before, during, and after events.
• Assist with the breakdown and packing of catering equipment and supplies post-event.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate service delivery.
