Casual - AI Student Ambassador
Help fellow students build the knowledge and confidence to use artificial intelligence tools responsibly, ethically and effectively.

Be a Peer Leader in AI Literacy
This grant-funded student position offers hands-on experience in workshop support, learning-resource development and digital communication while helping Gateway students prepare to use AI in academic and career settings.
Position Overview
The AI Student Ambassador supports college-wide efforts to advance AI literacy and career readiness. Working with the Learning Innovation Division, Library, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and other student-support areas, the Ambassador helps deliver, promote and improve structured AI-learning initiatives.
This is an opportunity for a current Gateway student to develop professional skills in peer support, facilitation, training development and digital communication while making AI resources more approachable and useful for other students.
What You Will Do
Support AI Literacy Activities
- Assist staff with AI Studio workstations and create simple, student-friendly AI practice activities.
- Help promote and support in-person or virtual AI workshops and campus events.
- Serve as a peer resource for students learning to use AI tools responsibly and effectively.
- Assist with drafting, testing and sharing AI learning resources through Brightspace and other student platforms.
- Collect attendance and feedback and help organize basic program records and materials.
What You Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at Gateway Technical College for a minimum of six credit hours.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence and technology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
- Reliability, organization and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or similar platforms.
- Experience with peer tutoring, mentoring or student leadership.
- Familiarity with Brightspace, LinkedIn Learning or other learning management systems.

Conditions of Employment
- The employee must maintain satisfactory academic standing throughout the appointment.
- Attendance at required training sessions, team meetings and program events is expected.
- Travel to other Gateway locations may be required to support training and workshops; mileage reimbursement is provided.
- Professional conduct consistent with Gateway student employment policies is required.
- Candidates must meet employment eligibility requirements for the United States.
- Gateway Technical College does not sponsor employment-based visas or provide relocation assistance.
Work Authorization
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available. International students seeking employment must be currently enrolled at Gateway Technical College and have an F-1 or M-1 visa. After receiving a job offer, the supervisor will provide employment details to Human Resources and request an Intent Letter. The international student must then obtain a Social Security number for tax purposes.
