About the Role:

The Cashier plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient customer transaction experience within the accommodation and food services industry. This position is responsible for accurately processing customer purchases, handling cash and electronic payments, and providing exceptional customer service to enhance guest satisfaction. The role requires maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, managing repetitive tasks with attention to detail, and supporting overall store operations through janitorial duties and inventory assistance. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet the dynamic needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ultimately, the Cashier contributes to a positive customer experience by combining technical skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in cashiering or customer service roles.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the accommodation and food services industry.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash registers.
• Strong phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Operate cash registers to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments while ensuring proper change and receipts are given.
• Provide courteous and helpful customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Perform janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout and surrounding areas.
• Assist with lifting and carrying heavy items as needed to support stock replenishment and store maintenance.
• Answer phone calls professionally, directing customers or taking messages as appropriate.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety protocols.
• Work a flexible schedule to accommodate peak business hours and special events.
