Cashier

Job Details: Job Location: Hugos Family Marketplace - Store #4 - University Ave - Crookston, MN, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $11.41 - $13.00Hourly, Job Shift: After School/Weekends, Job Purpose:
- The Cashier at Hugo's Family Marketplace is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by efficiently and accurately processing transactions at the point of sale (POS). The role involves managing cash transactions, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, and adhering to store policies and procedures to ensure a secure and pleasant shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries to enhance their shopping experience.
- Operate the point of sale (POS) system to process sales transactions, including cash, credit, and debit purchases.
- Handle cash responsibly, make change accurately, and count the cash register at the beginning of each shift.
- Assist customers with product information and location within the store.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Follow store policies and procedures, including security and loss prevention measures, to protect company assets.
- Provide support in other areas of the store as needed, contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications: Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Required Experience:
- Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

Preferred Experience:
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed
- Comfortable bending, reaching, and performing repetitive motions
