Part-Time Position

FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sing at all Saturday 5:00 PM liturgies, and Sunday 8:00 AM, and 10:30 AM liturgies.
• Prepare all music in advance and proficiently performs during service.
• Maintain a good working relationship with other musicians, staff, and volunteers.
• Follow Vatican, Diocesan and Parish guidelines concerning music and liturgy
• When unavailable procure suitable substitutes to sing, as per standard professional practice.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Must have a deep love of Jesus Christ, shown by active involvement in his/her faith community. 
• Must be able to accept and adapt to constructive criticism.
• Must pass a background check and complete Safe Environment Training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must fluently read modern and Gregorian music notations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be a proficient sight-reader.
• Must be able to communicate professionally in writing and speak with a variety of people.
• Must have a professional appearance and demeanor.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
