Job Description
Position Summary
The Programs Coordinator helps plan and deliver Econautics' hands-on eco-education and urban agriculture programming at Woodhaven and future Living Laboratory sites. This volunteer works closely with staff, partner schools, and community members to keep field-based learning experiences, workshops, and demonstration projects running smoothly — turning underutilized urban land into places where kids and adults learn sustainable growing practices firsthand.
Key Responsibilities
• Help schedule and coordinate field-based eco-education with schools and universities
• Support hands-on farming and gardening activities, workshops, and community events at Woodhaven
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and coordinating program volunteers and interns
• Track program attendance, participation, and feedback to help measure impact
• Coordinate program logistics: supplies, tools, site preparation, and weather contingencies
• Serve as a point of contact for teachers, administrators, and community partners scheduling visits
• Support demonstration and research activities conducted with university partners
• Contribute photos, stories, or updates for social media and newsletters highlighting program impact
Qualifications
• Genuine interest in sustainability, urban agriculture, environmental education, or youth programming
• Strong organizational skills and comfort juggling multiple moving parts
• Clear, friendly communication with children, educators, and community members
• Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather and get hands dirty
• Reliable transportation to the Woodhaven site in East Fort Worth
• Experience with teaching, coaching, or youth programs is a plus, but not required
• Ability to commit to a consistent weekly or biweekly schedule; background check required for roles involving direct work with minors

Compensation
This is an unpaid, volunteer position. Econautics is not able to offer monetary compensation for this role at this time. In-kind support (such as training, mileage reimbursement, or program materials) may be discussed with your volunteer coordinator, where available.
