Cafeteria Assistant - Buckeye Union School District (3 hours per day)

Join Buckeye Union School District (El Dorado Hills): Cafeteria Assistant position available – part-time (3 hours per day) during the school year.  Work hours are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - approximately.  This is a floater position - you may be assigned at any of our schools location in the El Dorado Hill, Cameron Park and Shingle Springs area.

Hourly starting rate: $19.73

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cafeteria Assistant to join our Food Services team. This role is crucial in ensuring our students receive healthy meals in a clean and welcoming cafeteria setting.

Role Overview

The Cafeteria Assistant will perform a variety of tasks related to the preparation, serving, and clean-up of school meals. This includes ensuring food safety standards are met, maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria, and providing courteous service to students and staff.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of daily meals, including breakfast and lunch

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafeteria and kitchen areas

• Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed

• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, and food warmers

• Monitor and restock food and supply inventory as needed

• Support the cashier during meal times, including handling money and maintaining accurate records

• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other team member

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required

• Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred

• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service
