Work days and times (four days a week; 25 hours): Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.; Friday, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; and Sundays, 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.; partial benefits are included, such as vacation and sick time, but no healthcare coverage offered.

JOB SUMMARY
The Cafe Attendant is responsible for waiting on and serving the public, preparing recipes using cafe guidelines, and carrying out other duties in support of the Cafe department and the library.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(percentages are approximate; duties are illustrative, not exclusive)
A. Wait on and serving the public, which includes
- preparing and serving food and beverages for customers’ orders,
- operating the cash register,
- providing backup to other cafe employees, and
- cleaning cafe equipment and surfaces.
These duties and responsibilities account for 75% of the work time.
B. Prepare recipes using cafe guidelines, which includes
- baking using cafe guidelines,
- using specialized cafe equipment, and
- maintaining a clean and hygienic work area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
These duties and responsibilities account for 20% of the work time.
C. Carry out other duties in support of the Cafe department and the library, which includes
- participating in staff meetings, staff development programs, in-service days, library committees, and professional development activities; and
- performing other duties as assigned.
These duties and responsibilities account for 5% of the work time.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Skilled in using everyday technology such as computers, smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft 365 for work tasks
- Skilled in written and verbal communication
- Able to follow health and safety requirements
- Able to pay attention to detail
- Able to project a friendly, competent image to the public
- Able to use cafe equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 16 years old
- Completion of at least two years of high school or demonstrated equivalent
