Busser / Expo – Part-Time
Location: William Penn Inn – Gwynedd, PA
Pay: $5.00 – $7.00 per hour plus tips
Schedule: Must have Sunday morning availability

The William Penn Inn is a historic and elegant dining destination known for exceptional food, timeless hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are currently seeking experienced Bussers and Expos to join our team. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented position ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic and a passion for hospitality.

Position Overview

As a Busser or Expo, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction. Bussers support servers by keeping the dining area clean and well-stocked, while Expos act as the liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house to ensure food is presented correctly and delivered promptly. Both roles are critical to maintaining the flow of service.

Busser Responsibilities

• Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently

• Return soiled dishes to the dishwashing area

• Refill water glasses, replenish bread, and assist servers during service

• Set up tables and dining areas prior to guest arrival

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining room

• Stock service stations with necessary items (napkins, silverware, etc.)

• Assist with opening and closing duties

Expo Responsibilities

• Serve as the communication link between the kitchen and service staff

• Ensure accuracy of orders leaving the kitchen

• Garnish and inspect plates for presentation, temperature, and completeness

• Coordinate and time the delivery of food to guests

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the expo line

• Communicate effectively with chefs and servers to keep service flowing

• Assist with stocking kitchen or expo supplies as needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age

• Sunday morning availability required

• Prior restaurant experience preferred, especially in fine dining or upscale service

• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure

• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

• Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
