Work Schedule

 9:00 am  - 7 pm Monday - Thursday and occasional evenings or weekends

Job Summary

The Business Tutoring Center provides free peer tutoring to CBE students in most lower and upper-division cores. In addition, we offer a quiet study space and collaborate with campus and community partners to deliver wellness, scholarship, and financial literacy programming. 

The Front Desk Student Assistant is critically important as the first person a new visitor encounters, whether through walk-ins, email, phone, or voicemail. Welcoming, helpful, and accurate interactions help turn visitors into regulars!  Happy regulars refer friends! The Front Desk Student Assistant supports the Center's operations and mission and assists with additional CBE Engagement efforts. 

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Applicants must have:  

1) ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty;

2) ability to analyze situations accurately and troubleshoot issues to provide solutions

3) ability to work under minimum supervision;

4) outstanding customer service skills;

5) excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills;

6) familiarity of Microsoft Access, Word, Excel and Outlook 

Required Qualifications

• Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
• Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
• In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
• Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
