Business Development Representative

Position Overview
St. Johns Air, a Fidelity Building Services Group company, is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to help grow our commercial HVAC and refrigeration business throughout Central Florida. This is a hunter-focused outside sales opportunity for someone who enjoys creating relationships, developing new business, and bringing practical solutions to commercial customers.

The right candidate will be comfortable building a territory, prospecting for new opportunities, meeting customers in the field, and partnering with internal service and operations teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Commercial HVAC/R experience is highly valued, while strong B2B sales professionals from related technical industries will also be considered.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and grow new commercial HVAC/R business throughout Central Florida.
• Prospect through cold calling, networking, referrals, jobsite visits, industry events, and other business development activities.
• Build relationships with building owners, facility managers, property managers, contractors, engineers, and other commercial customers.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate HVAC, refrigeration, equipment, parts, and service solutions.
• Conduct customer visits, jobsite meetings, sales presentations, and opportunity follow-up.
• Prepare proposals and quotes with support from internal teams as needed.
• Manage leads, opportunities, and customer activity through the company CRM.
• Partner with service, operations, and project teams to support a successful customer experience.
• Meet or exceed established sales and business development goals.
• Represent St. Johns Air at trade shows, networking events, and customer meetings.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of outside sales or business development experience, preferably in commercial HVAC/R, mechanical contracting, construction, building services, equipment, or a related industry.
• Proven ability to generate new business and develop customer relationships from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration systems, equipment, service, or applications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated, persistent, and comfortable working independently.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to identify customer needs and connect them with appropriate solutions.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, email, and common sales technology.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the Central Florida market.

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing relationships with commercial building owners, facility managers, property managers, mechanical contractors, general contractors, engineering firms, or other commercial customers.
• Previous experience selling HVAC/R service, preventive maintenance, equipment, replacement parts, controls, or related solutions.
• HVAC/R technical training or field experience.
• Experience reading equipment schedules, plans, specifications, or mechanical documentation.
• Experience selling in the Orlando/Central Florida commercial market.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

This position requires regular travel to customer locations, commercial facilities, and construction jobsites. Candidates must be comfortable walking through commercial facilities and mechanical rooms, navigating construction areas, climbing stairs, and wearing required personal protective equipment when necessary.

Commercial HVAC/R experience is a major plus, but we're willing to consider strong outside sales professionals from related technical industries who bring the drive, customer focus, and ability to learn the business.
