Business Development Officer (Part-Time)

Position Summary:

The Business Development Officer is responsible for building market position by locating new business opportunities and developing business relationships. This high-contact positions requires the ability to initiate and develop prospective customers and cultivate current client relationships through a proactive and professional sales approach. 

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Uncovers potential business opportunities with prospective customers, and communicates opportunities to SVP, Commercial Banking.
2. Participates in on-going communication with prospects/customers in conjunction with assigned Relationship Manager.
3. Maintains professional communication and conduct with all clients, prospects and associates.
4. Generates leads for additional bank services relating to Business Banking, Retail Banking, Investments, Indirect Lending and Mortgage Banking.
5. Champions dual calling efforts with Relationship Managers
6. Maintains and promotes a superior level of professional customer service and Team Member relations at all times.  
7. Actively participates in community organizations and events to increase the bank’s visibility and image in order to build a solid referral network.  
8. Assures that all client documentation, customer agreements, and required loan and supporting documentation are obtained and accurate.
9. Participates in the underwriting and documentation of the credit.
10. Monitors customer performance and maintains timely reporting to include the receipt of and review of required financial information.
11. Undertakes special projects and/or assignments for the bank, as needed.
12. Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.

Technical: Fluency in Jack Henry, loan platform systems or similar financial industry technology, Microsoft 365 and Office (Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).  Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field. Minimum 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and adequate auto insurance.

This job operates in a clerical office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
