The Questex Hospitality Group brings together decision-makers across branded hotels, restaurants, bars, airlines, cruise lines, casinos, resorts, concessionaires, and management companies with product and solution providers across food, beverage, technology, design, finance and operations to increase profitability and productivity.

As a Business Development Manager, you will spearhead revenue generation through the sale of sponsorships for leading events and media properties in Hospitality. Key responsibilities include identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing a portfolio of clients, nurturing long-term client relationships, and achieving sales targets. This role also involves creating tailored sponsorship packages, maintaining consistent lead generation, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver excellent customer experiences.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

• Meets or exceeds forecasted sales (digital, marketing services, trade show/conference platforms) for territory of $1.1 M annually. 
• Satisfies the needs of clients using a consultative selling style while being personable, professional and accommodating in manner. 
• Develops a thorough understanding of the market and culture in order to attract new customers/business. 
• Performs extensive research on marketplace developing lists of new prospects and lists of existing accounts (tiered) for follow-up process. 
• Confers with sales management and other sales staff to develop growth opportunities. 
• Maintains strong industry credibility through visible attendance at trade shows and other product presentations, staying updated on new developments and technologies and communicating this information to both key existing accounts and potential new accounts. 
• Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for assigned properties in assigned tier of customer categories and determines actions to be taken on certain tier accounts. 
• Generates direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling and face-to-face meetings. 
• Maintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling. Forecasts and reports revenue by maintaining sales pipelines within assigned territory. 

Your Experience & Education Include:

• Food service sales experience preferred.
• Experience of working with public sector organizations and NGOs preferred.
• 4 years minimum experience in trade show/media environment.   
• Excellent presentation, writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 
• The ability to be a strong and savvy negotiator 
• A strong sense of organization with strict attention to detail 
• Ability to listen, adapt, and think quickly on your feet

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60,000- $70,000. This position will also have a commission package. Salary offers are based on a broad scope of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, geographic and organizational factors are also considered.
