BUS AIDE

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: YWCA Central Massachusetts - Worcester, MA, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: 2 Year Degree, Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.00Hourly, Job Shift: Day, Job Title: Bus Aide                                                                                 

Reports to: Childcare Center Director                                                   

Schedule: Part time, Monday through Friday, 11:00am - 3:00pm                               

Job Summary:

Assist in managing the ongoing programming in assigned classroom(s) in a professional and confidential manner and in a way which incorporates the developmental/culturally sensitive philosophy of the Center to ensure the highest quality of care, as well as compliance with NAEYC standards, DEEC requirements, and health and safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing a curriculum and maintaining an environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace, as well as interact comfortably with adults.
Supervise children in play and structured activities.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for children; performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
Greet parents daily
Communicates any out of ordinary information regarding the children to the classroom teacher.
Perform other duties as requested and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications: Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to relate with co-workers and parents in cooperative/positive manner while supporting students with diverse learning needs and promoting respectful interactions.
Ability to work with families and children of diverse cultural backgrounds

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 18 years of age
Experience working with children

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
Run or move quickly to respond to emergency situations
