Builder Specialties Account Manager

Job Details: Job Location: Charlotte - Charlotte, NC, Salary Range: $60000.00 - $70000.00Salary/year, Rite Rug has been one of the leading flooring distributors for over 90 years!  We now also handle specialty products for new home builds such as shower doors, garage doors and shelving systems.  We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our growing team! 

$60,000 to $70,000 a year.  Salary based on experience. 

Position Summary

The Specialty Account Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing customer relationships within assigned residential and commercial accounts. This position serves as the primary point of contact for customers purchasing and installing specialty building products, including shower doors, mirrors, bath hardware, door hardware, shelving systems, and garage doors. The Specialty Account Manager works closely with builders, contractors, project managers, purchasing professionals, and internal operations teams to ensure exceptional customer service, accurate product specifications, timely project execution, and profitable account growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Account Management & Customer Relations

Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments.
Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews to identify opportunities for growth.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through responsive communication and problem resolution.
Collaborate with customers to understand project requirements, timelines, and product needs.
Promote company products, services, and value-added solutions to increase market share within assigned accounts.

Project Coordination

Coordinate with estimating, operations, scheduling, installation, and service teams to ensure successful project execution.
Review plans, specifications, and scope documents to confirm product requirements and project expectations.
Monitor project progress and proactively address issues affecting quality, schedule, or customer satisfaction.
Assist customers with product selection, technical information, and scope clarification.
Ensure accurate order entry and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Product Expertise

Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of specialty products and installation applications.
Provide guidance regarding product specifications, design considerations, functionality, and available options.
Stay informed about industry trends, manufacturer updates, and new product offerings.
Support customers with solutions that meet both project requirements and budget expectations.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

3-5+ years of account management, sales, construction products, building materials, specialty trades, or related industry experience required.
Experience working with builders, general contractors, multifamily developers, or commercial customers strongly preferred.
Experience with shower doors, mirrors, bath hardware, door hardware, shelving, garage doors, or similar specialty products is highly desirable.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel regularly to customer locations, jobsites, and company facilities.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work in office, warehouse, and construction site environments.

 
Qualifications:
