About Us

Hyatt Place Mount Pleasant Towne Centre is a 92-room hotel located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, just minutes from historic Charleston, area beaches, and some of the region’s top shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations.

We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and guest-focused Breakfast Attendant / Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. This position plays an important role in helping our guests start their day with delicious food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Whether preparing hot breakfast items, keeping the buffet fresh and inviting, or greeting guests with a friendly smile, our Breakfast Attendants / Cooks help create positive experiences that set the tone for the rest of each guest’s day.

Position Summary

The Breakfast Attendant / Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting the hotel’s complimentary breakfast while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, safety, and guest service.

This position combines food preparation, buffet setup and maintenance, guest interaction, kitchen sanitation, and closing responsibilities to ensure a smooth and enjoyable breakfast experience each day.

The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, organized, and passionate about food quality and hospitality.

Essential Functions

Food Preparation

• Prepare breakfast items according to recipes and Hyatt standards.

• Cook and prepare hot breakfast items while ensuring quality and consistency.

• Maintain proper food temperatures, presentation, and portion standards.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.

• Properly label, store, rotate, and dispose of food products.

• Assist with inventory management and communicate replenishment needs.

Breakfast Service

• Set up the breakfast buffet before service begins.

• Ensure all food and beverage stations are fully stocked, clean, organized, and ready for guests.

• Monitor food levels throughout breakfast service and replenish items promptly.

• Maintain an attractive and welcoming breakfast area.

• Break down and clean the buffet and service areas following breakfast.

• Prepare the breakfast area and necessary supplies for the following day.

Guest Services

• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude.

• Provide attentive service and create a positive breakfast experience.

• Answer questions regarding breakfast offerings and hotel amenities.

• Assist guests with special requests when possible.

• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.

• Address guest concerns professionally and involve Management when appropriate.

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Clean kitchen equipment, preparation areas, dining areas, and other workspaces.

• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and service equipment.

• Remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout breakfast service.

• Follow all company, food safety, and health department sanitation requirements.

• Ensure equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained.

• Report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns to Management promptly.

Teamwork & Operations

• Work closely with Guest Services, Housekeeping, and Management to provide a seamless guest experience.

• Communicate effectively regarding guest requests, operational needs, and supply levels.

• Assist with additional Food & Beverage responsibilities as assigned.

• Support hotel operations and special events when needed.

• Follow Hyatt brand standards and company policies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently while remaining organized and attentive to detail.

• Dependable and punctual, with reliable early-morning availability.

• Ability to work weekends and holidays based on business needs.

• Willingness to obtain required food safety certification.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and carry supplies as needed.

• Ability to work safely in kitchen and food preparation environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous food service, restaurant, hotel, catering, or kitchen experience.

• Previous cooking or breakfast service experience.

• Food safety certification.

• Hyatt or hotel experience preferred.

Schedule Expectations

• Early-morning availability is required.

• Typical shifts begin early in the morning to ensure breakfast is fully prepared before service begins.

• Weekend and holiday availability is required based on business needs.

• Shifts typically conclude by the early afternoon after breakfast breakdown and cleaning responsibilities are completed.
