About this role

We're hiring a brand and motion designer to build Highbeam's visual identity from the ground up — and make it move. You'll work closely product and GTM and work alongside our founders on how the company presents itself. This is a full-stack brand role. Identity, campaigns, motion, illustration: you define them, systematize them, and ship them yourself.

Since we've never hired for this role before we're hoping this to be a contract to start engagement with the hopes of it converting to full time. Which also means we're open to remote candidates as well but would prefer in person.

What you'll work on

• The brand. Highbeam is a serious financial platform that doesn't yet look like one. You'll help build and maintain the identity from the foundations — type, color, logo, illustration, the visual expression of our voice and turn it into guidelines and kits the rest of the team can actually use without asking you first.

• Marketing surfaces. highbeam.co, launch campaigns, lifecycle email, social, paid creative, sales and event collateral. You'll take concepts from idea to shipped, and bring in external partners when the work is bigger than one person.

• Motion. Launch films and social video on the marketing side; transitions, empty states, onboarding, and Luma's thinking states on the product side. You'll define how Highbeam moves and hand production-ready assets to engineering.

• Illustration and 3D. Cash flow, working capital, ad spend, an AI analyst reasoning about someone's money — abstract concepts that need a visual language before they're understandable. You'll build the system that explains them.

Who you are

• 4+ years in brand design, graphic design, or art direction, ideally on consumer or modern tech brands. We're open to a wide range of experiences and seniority for the right talent.

• A portfolio with exceptional visual execution across surfaces — web, mobile, social, email, print. A portfolio is required; applications without one won't be reviewed.

• Obsessive about fundamentals: type, layout, color, composition, hierarchy — and able to apply them across disciplines rather than only the one you trained in.

• Real motion chops. After Effects, Cavalry, Rive, or equivalent, with comfort shipping to an engineering team and responding to format, sizing, and performance requirements.
