Tonkin Collision Center is seeking a Journeyman Painter who takes pride in their work, moves efficiently, and knows how to deliver high‑quality finishes in a production environment.

Position Overview
As a Journeyman Painter, you’ll be responsible for prepping, matching, and applying paint finishes while maintaining quality and efficiency. This role is built for painters who can move fast, stay accurate, and keep production flowing.
Body Shop Painter Job Responsibilities
Prep vehicle surfaces, including sanding, masking, and priming
Perform accurate color matching and blending
Apply paint, clear coat, and finishes to manufacturer standards
Inspect completed work to ensure quality and consistency
Maintain cleanliness and organization of paint booth and workspace
Follow all safety and environmental procedures
Coordinate with body techs and estimators for workflow efficiency
Maintain tools, materials, and equipment
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Body Shop Journeyman Painter Compensation and Benefits
$29.00/hr Flat Rate
High volume = high earning potential (plenty of hours available)

QualificationsBody Shop Journeyman Painter Qualifications
Journeyman‑level auto body painting experience required
Strong color matching and blending skills
Ability to work in a flat‑rate, production environment
High attention to detail and quality standards
Reliable, efficient, and team‑oriented
Knowledge of paint systems and refinishing processes
Corporate Hiring Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

The Gee Automotive Companies began in 1983 when George Gee opened a Pontiac dealership in Spokane, Washington, which quickly became the largest in the state. In 1991, the company added GMC to its offerings, and in 2000, it relocated to new facilities in Liberty Lake, WA.
In 2003, Ryan Gee became President and CEO, building on his parents' legacy by expanding the company to include Buick, Porsche of Spokane, Kia in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, and Cadillac in Coeur d'Alene. Ryan focused on cultivating talent within the organization, bringing on skilled managers such as Jeff Jackson, who became president in 2010 while Ryan remained as CEO and Dealer Principal.
