Benefits Manager

Overview

The Benefits Manager oversees the administration and delivery of the Firm’s health, retirement, leave, and wellbeing programs. This role leads benefits operations, compliance, vendor performance, financial administration, employee support and program communications. Works closely with the Director of Benefits & Compensation on strategy, benefits innovation and program enhancements.

Responsibilities

Scope: 

This role serves as a benefits subject matter expert and supports employees globally across a broad portfolio of benefit and leave programs. Oversees benefits administration, open enrollment, audits, reporting, vendor relationships, benefits finances, employee communications, benefits content and systems, and manages the benefits team.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage health, retirement, leave, disability, workers’ compensation, and wellbeing programs. 
• Ensure compliance with applicable benefits laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, COBRA and related regulations. 
• Lead open enrollment; support the implementation of new or enhanced programs in Workday. 
• Manage employee benefit inquiries and deliver a high level of support. 
• Support benefits strategy through plan design, renewals, benchmarking, and market analysis. 
• Oversee benefits vendors, brokers, audits, plan documentation, tax filings, and operational requirements.
• Manage benefits budgeting, invoice payments, financial reporting and reconciliation activities.  
• Develop communications, training, and intranet content to promote employee engagement. 
• Support international offices with their benefits programs.
• Supervises the benefits team and supports career development

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

• Strong knowledge of health, retirement, leave, disability, and wellbeing programs.

• Ability to analyze benefits data and develop actionable recommendations.
• Interpret benefits regulations and maintain appropriate safeguards for confidential and protected health information. 

• Proficiency with Workday and other HRIS platforms, analytics tools to support data-driven decision making, and program delivery. 

• Communicate effectively with employees, Firm leadership, and other key stakeholders. 

• Manage multiple priorities with strong project management, and follow-through skills. 

• Sound judgment, discretion, attention to detail, and a commitment to employee service. 

Candidate must have at least 5-8 years of progressive benefits experience, including hands-on experience administering health and welfare, retirement, and leave programs. 

Experience managing self-funded health plans, benefits operations, vendors, compliance activities, open enrollment, and team members is required. Experience in a professional services environment and with Workday is preferred.
